Every person, child or adult has a dream, a dream to be some one special, some one to be counted in the Society. This is truer of the Differently abled persons, as they grapple with reality of their disabilities, they too chase a Dream to be someone special to be counted in the Society. So, this year we have chosen the theme “Chase your Dreams” as the theme of our Annual Day and the Annual magazine. The job of Snehalaya is to facilitate in achieving these dreams and goals of our special Students. We the Staff and Management consider it a privilege to work for the welfare of the Differently abled Students and we give our best for this cause.
At present we have 86 students on roll with various disabilities. The number is set to increase to 100 in the coming academic year which is the maximum we can accommodate within our present set up.
We are still at the planning stage to start a branch of Snehalaya. We also campaign for easy accessibility and jobs for the Differently abled Students. If all the new buildings whether residential or Commercial are constructed with accessible infrastructure, adaptive technology, and inclusive policies, they will be of great help. Ramps, elevators, and tactile paths enhance physical accessibility, while tech like screen readers aids digital navigation. Inclusive public transportation and workplace accommodation further empower the mobility of the Differently abled. We are preparing our students in our workshops to take up various jobs which are suitable for them based on their disabilities. According to their skills and abilities.
I am confident that some of our students will get their placement in the leading Companies soon. If companies could give online work facilities to these students, it will be of great help. Finally, my sincere gratitude to all our Friends and Benefactors for your help and support which makes our work easier and commitment stronger.
